Thank you for doing this. Your site is very well-designed and interesting. The only minor point is that your pages in Russian unfortunately, totally unreadable for a Mac user (it would be great if you translate them to Win1251 or KOI-8). Also, speaking about Russian Navy, why not include some well-worldwide-known and famous russian songs like say, "Variag" (in native language) and more detailed historic overview of that famous battle? Many russian love it.

Looks good and it's fast. Question: How do I write "Red October" in Russian?

Very nice site, and with an interresting iconography. FRANCE and RUSSIA have a long friendship, expecially between the navy so live long and prosper.

I just found it today... its great that it is now so easy to talk with people around the world. I found the History of the Russian Navy very interesting. I had been looking for information on Mikail Gvozdev, a Russian explorer who was the first European to see the coast of Alaska in 1738. Nowdays, Bering gets all the credit but Gvozdev was in fact the first. Best regards, Pete Brown Anchorage, Alaska

A very nice start to the site, but I would love to see more information on the Navy and the ships of Imperial Russia during the Russo-Japanese War, perhaps the most exciting period of the modern era. I am currently working on my master's degree thesis on naval operations during the war, and have found pictures on the Japanese forces easy to get on the web, but the Russian ships are hard to find information on. I do have excellent text sources, including three books by Captain (later Commander) Vladimir Semenoff, articles by Admiral Nebogatoff,as well as many articles from other Russian officers as well as British and American officers who served on the Russian ships as naval observers. In addition, I have the Admiralty reports on technical matters (4 volumes) during the War, which makes for very interesting reading. (I would be glad to share my bibliography with you, if you are interested). I am currently a Canadian Navy officer stationed at the Royal Military College in Kingston. Cheers! Lt. Rob Watt
